Some of your Rutgers courses will be on the Canvas platform, starting Fall 2016. Several weeks before the start of term, students enrolled in courses on Canvas will be added to the system and have immediate access to the Canvas Student Orientation. We strongly recommend walking through this short, hands-on tutorial, which will show you how to submit work and participate in activities on Canvas.
In the meantime, Canvas offers very accessible and broad-ranging Guides for their users, in both text and video formats. We encourage you to explore the Guides and see some of the great features that will be available in this platform!
Check out this video for a quick preview of this simple and powerful new learning management system.
Students with Accessibility Concerns
Rutgers University welcomes students with disabilities into all of the University's educational programs. In order to receive consideration for reasonable accommodations, a student with a disability must contact the appropriate disability services office at the campus where you are officially enrolled, participate in an intake interview, and provide documentation. If the documentation supports your request for reasonable accommodations, your campus’ disability services office will provide you with a Letter of Accommodations. Please share this letter with your instructors and discuss the accommodations with them as early in your courses as possible. To begin this process, please complete the Registration form on the ODS web site.
The Rutgers Center for Online & Hybrid Learning and Instructional Technologies is firmly committed to supporting your online educational needs. You are invited to review the following documentation from Canvas by Instructure to facilitate your online learning experience:
