Is this program for-credit?
No. This program is non-credit. It will not count toward any degree.
I have never taught online, can I still earn this certificate?
Absolutely! That said, the courses are primarily geared toward participants who have taught in some form before.
I am not a Rutgers faculty member, can I still earn this certificate?
Absolutely. This certificate is available to everyone including Rutgers staff and graduate students, as well as, non-Rutgers faculty, staff, and graduate students. If you are not Rutgers, please use the "Non-Rutgers" registration links.
What is the cost?
Each course is $100 for Rutgers participants and $300 for non-Rutgers participants.
Are discounts available?
The certificate is already very affordable so no, there are no discounts available. The total cost for the certificate is $400 for Rutgers participants or $1,200 for non-Rutgers participants.
What kind of interaction with instructors can I expect?
Instructors provide continual feedback and communication in the course. Online office hours are also available.
Who are the instructors?
Our courses are taught by instructional design and technology experts from Rutgers, many of whom are also teaching faculty. You can read more about our team on our About Us page.
Are courses synchronous or asynchronous?
Each course is 100% asynchronous, and there are no class meetings at set times. This does not mean self-paced, though. There are hard deadlines for assignments, which must be met to complete the course successfully.
Do I have to start with the 'Fundamentals' course?
No. We recommend you start with 'Fundamentals,' but it is not required. Our courses can be taken in any sequence.
