Rutgers Canvas is pleased to announce the integration of Turning Technologies and Piazza. Rutgers Canvas has also released a new course role.
Turning Technologies Clickers Now Integrated
Turning Technologies, a student response system, is now integrated into Rutgers Canvas. Canvas account and Turning Technology account pairing is now managed within Canvas. Pair your account once! Instructors can collect student responses to clicker quizzes and polls with Turning Technologies clickers in-class. Instructors will be able to sync the clicker scores with the Canvas gradebook. To get started, enable the Turning Tech Account Registration in your course navigation. Please review the Turning Technologies support site for information on how to use Turning Technologies and the Canvas Integration.
Piazza Question & Answer Forum is now integrated
Piazza is a free online gathering place where students can ask, answer, and explore 24/7, under the guidance of their instructors. Students as well as instructors can answer questions, fueling a healthy, collaborative discussion. It is often used as a Question and Answer forum or as a wiki. To get started, enable the Piazza in your course navigation.
New Course Support Role for Rutgers Canvas
For those users who support teaching and need full course access beyond the Canvas course designer role, please use the "Course Support" role. Course Support has the same permissions as the Canvas Teacher role but will not trigger a SIRS evaluation. It will also provide clarity as to who is the course instructor for your students.
TurnItIn Feedback Release Date

When an assignment is copied the assignment start and due dates are updated in the new assignment. Unfortunately, the feedback release date is not updated and user will experience an error. Please navigate to your Turnitin Assignments in Canvas. Click the Turnitin settings icon in the Turnitin panel. Change the Feedback Release Date to be a date in the future.

Students will not be able to see your course until you publish your course. Do this before or on your start date. Once the term or course start date has passed, resend course invitations to let your students know that your course in on Canvas. You may review the Course Launch Checklist for other helpful tips to prepare your course for the first day of the semester.
